Im in a very useless class this morning so i am catching up on blogs.

this perticularly caught my eye on the Jak & Jil blog.

it is a sneak peak for the womens line for spring/ summer. the outfit on the right blew my mind.

from experience i can say that sewing with plaid and checkers is very time consuming and requires patience and perfection. but the results are wonderful as shown here!

id like to see more of these pieces in detail.

hey friends and readers. im still alive, i promise.

I am currently looking for my internship. i already asked my first choice ( Anastasia lomonova) if she needed someone and has agreed to meet me although she knows nothing about me yet haha i am semi hoping she used the internet and found me out and thinks she might want to work with me. (wishful thinking obviously haha)

isnt it such a wonderful feeling to receive something in the mail that isnt a bill or impersonal ads?

these past two weeks i have found myself back to browsing etsy as I used to and purchased quite a few things (compared to how minimal my spending has been since back to school)

Today i received the first purchase from that spending spree. it is a print by a Tuscon, AZ tattoo artist a friend refered me to.

her name is Allyson bennett. you can find more prints and even little journals by her at her etsy shop.

I always like to look at the recently listed items , its a good way to stuble upon a store you wouldnt have thought to look for.
that happened 2 nights ago. this lady draws interesting stuff on old book pages. i was very excited and ordered three prints. today however i found another shop doing just the same with almost the same exact images but bigger. this second one has been selling on etsy for longuer. i almost feel like she got her idea stolen.. although she might not be the first to do it.

last week i tried writting an "imaginary etsy shopping post" inspired by meaghans but i was just all over the place and it seemed to make no sense. today i was looking at shoes first and remembered i have this amazing white and pink stripe fabric i really want to make shorts out of.
i started looking on etsy and so far every pattern i love and want is for size 7 GIRLS. which is about half of what i need in vintage pattern sizing. so sad.

life is kind of nuts these days, i go to school full time, work over 20h and have been dealing with family/friend illnesses and helping my mom out with stuff. i should really be packing for my move in 2 weeks but i am dogsitting at my moms and taking care of business.
i am back on my bike wich is really fun.

anyways, through all that ive made 2 giant messenger bags. i didnt get any pictures of the first one. but my friend teddy was nice enough to send me some of his. he was able to fit his pitbull in it. yes its that big.

havent decided yet if this is a real project or just something i do when people ask. im still not fully satisfied with the end resulst but never have time to work it.

also i think i would be a much better blogger if i had a computer.. haha

my school may be offering some specialized courses after our graduations that will just be like certificates. one includes bridal. i have to say i was the only one in my class that got excited and for some reason everytime i tell someone i want to take this i get weird looks.

let me explain.

not only are wedding dresses extremely tedious and delicate and require tons of care and details which means i would be perfecting a special skill that could be good in any kind of clothing or costumes.

but mostly because if i went into bridal it would be to make stuff with this feel to it.

i just made three skirts last week out of things i had at home.

now i have 3 more ideas but no supplies and no money for them.

whan whan whan.

school is getting awesome. our next assignment in the actual sewing class is this amazing high waisted skirt. hopefully we bring in our own fabrics and i can own it after.

also in our drawing class the final assignment is super fun.

we have to basically create two looks/outfits. determine what they will be worn for (cocktail party, work, night out) and then do a technical drawing. find photos that inspired it and then make a sheet with the fabrics and colors we'd use and whatever other garments.

i love mine. i will try and scan it before i hand it in.

my lack of computer has really put a dent on my blog posts and tumblr and even twitter. i pretty much only check gmail and fb from my phone.
terrible.

i am in school and loving it. learning to make clothes. today we got to pick our manequins and set up the "bolducs" i dont know the term in english but its all those lines that show where to measure. i was lucky and got one that is almost my body measurments which means the things we make might fit me! how exciting.

i love life. everything is great. the only thing lacking is more time with friends but i usually get to see a few of them often enough. and now sergio and i have some game nights with other couples which is great. also i expect to see more of meaghan with our boys leaving us on tour together for a bit.

i am also hoping to get a new computer soon.

so many projects in the works. including making messenger bags with the boyfriend. the three size prototypes have been made and now its just a matter of some small details and we should be good to go, so much fun.

so yeah that was my quick update. in this case no news really is good news.
my mom is on her way back from the airport. she was shooting in paris and i cant wait to see the goodies she brought back.

ps. i dont think ive ever been this happy in life for no specific reason.
life is just good and im loving it.

i realize tumblr may not always be the best blogging platform.
here is a real post that talks about real things and not just a cute puppy pic or some babe model.

i really liked olivia's "stay home" banner. as seen below.

so i had at first intended on making one myself.
but my machine is broken and i decided to treat myself and get one made by her friend charlie that made this one.

it seems almost a frivolous expense when i am pretty sure i could make one. but at the same time it works for me. mine will say "yes you can"
i can be pretty defeatist at times and the extra encouragement could be perfect and now its even better cause i wont have made it for myself.
only 20 something days till school. i really need to get the machine fixed. whats a seamstress without a sewing machine. not much, ill tell you that.

ok so last night i went to meet up with stef and laura to have some brews on the patio.
a friend of lauras joined us and he was with some guys playing a show here. this guy dean recognized me instantly from meeeting me 5 years ago. it took me a bit but i remmebered him. i am still stunned he remembered/recognized me.
what happened to my brain? i used to remember everyone.
anyways drank some more and went to their show. it was pretty sweet. poppy stuff. reminded everyone of the loved ones which is a good thing. there even were some pop punk jumps. which are awessssommeeee
and then i embarassed myself by introducing myself to some guy as his friends gf. which is kind of awkward. ah my life.

oh i will upload the phtos from last night when i get some food in my stomach. i managed to convince the office driver to get some bagels and smoked salmon instead of danishes this morning. i cant wait. ( iamhungoverfml.)

i was in a bad mood today for various little reasons. one being that i bailed on my bike last night and bashed my cheekbone on my handlebars and now its swollen and bruised and is giving me a headache, that i have a bump on my ankle like half a golf ball and ruined my leggings.

but this video cheered me up.
i always loved the cajun accent although its super hard to understand when you concentrate enough you hear a lot of the french. this is awesome.

i have started biking everywhere. which means about 40 minutes in the morning and 45 at night from my house to work and back. or about half an hour going or coming from my bfs place and work and its a good 40 between our two places which i did on monday after having already biked home. i am going to lose the realistic 10 pounds i want to shed, and maybe with miracle help 15. (but probably not) anyways not the point of this post.

the problem with this is no matter what i do to my hair it just looks disheveled when i get anywhere. it knots crazy easy and gets in the way so i tie it up in messy buns a lot but that gets old.

i will never get to sport this

luckily if tied up loosely enough on my ride i could easily do this messy look once taking it down.

it would never look that good because daisy lowe is about ten thousand times more gorgeous than me but it will definitly be my summer hair. no straightner.
i am getting my natural hair color back on saturday. looking forward to it. i am a much better brunette then red head. tho i am jealous of those who can pull it off. i am kind of glad those moniker pictures were taken at its reddest that way i have photographic evidence of it haha.

also i cant wait for the weather to get better so i can bike around in this pretty dress i bought last fall and have never worn.

anyways. this weather and biking has gotten me thinking about getting creative with outfits. i wish i wasnt so lazy about documenting them, then again its not that interesting to anyone i dont think.

ok so sorry if this is boring i just want to yell it to the world because i am so happy.

fully registered for my classes in sept. just got my answer from the government and they are giving me 7000$ and lending me 2400$ which comes out to 740$ a month that i am in school and considering most of it is a bursary i am the happiest girl ever. this makes a huge difference on the stress i will be feeling while in school full time. i still have to work and stuff but now i know rent and bills are paid. i just have to work enough to feed myself and have some fun when i can. and afford supplies. its a great relief after being out of school for seven years and on my own for about 6, to actually be able to do this. i am so unbelievably excited.

anyways life is amazing

i went to meet up with my cousin and her bf gab after work last night, we hung around outremont a bit and had some ice cream then went to see wolverine. what a dissapointing pre-quel. it was to be expected. but there are some very ridiculous/intense actions scene which were well worth my 5$.

there were some pretty nice shirtless ryan reynolds scenes too, which were enjoyable.

breakfast of champions:

Vector cereal with honey and bananas. ( i took this yesterday but forgot to post it, im about to eat the same while i watch the latest ANTM)

i have decided to really be careful what i eat these days. this long winter and the stress of my last relationship took a toll on my body ( i binge when i am stressed) and most of my summer clothes dont fit the way they did or i'd like them to. i would idealy lose 15 to 20 pounds but i know it wont happen so 10 is my goal.
i was eating bagels with cream cheese every morning at work which is terrible so i asked the office driver to get bananas to spruce up this kind of unapealing cereal.

yesterday i got a wonderfull compliment from a lady i find gorgeous and for some reason it really made me happy.

I started fiddling around with things to make a gorgeous feathered headband but i am missing one thing so i will have to go on a supply run this weekend. cant wait to show the results.

i find coffee so comforting, obviously second to being in my boy's arms, i take great pleasure in my morning/afternoon/anytime coffee. especially when i am reading interesting things.

today i was trying to find an image from an ad campain that i thought was either the penelope cruz one for mango or a guess one. i cant find it but it was to show gorgeous short brown hair that i am craving these days. i found some pictures of poppy from Gossip Girl but none of them show how her hair was in the last episode.

it falls a little flat in those two pictures. which is probably what mine would do. i keep wanting to cut it because it is always in the way. but i would probably cry if i did. i am just worried about how annoying it will be in the summer with my bangs and all. i wish i could pull off a semi middle part like penelope cruz does in this ad.

not really middle but not bangs. i havent been able to ever fully grow them out. oh well. the problem is when i see gorgeous hair i think that if i cut it that way i will look as babely as the ladies sporting it in the pictures that inspired it. which obviously never happens since i dont look like them haha. i am also considering going back to my natural dark brown hair. bah who knows.

the whole fuck up with paypal and my bank account means not only do i have those fees but also i dont get those supplies and cant really afford to buy them for at least like 3 weeks which makes me very very sad. bahh. tonight i want to see if i can fiddle around with my sowing machine and fix it. i need new bows.

I ordered some gorgeous supplies on etsy so i can make that head piece and some necklaces.
i can never get to stores during the week because i finish late and hate going to most of them on weekends because they are so busy. so i might just stick to etsy for supplies although i do adore touching things i buy. putting a whole hand in a jar of buttons or feeling all the fabric and ribbons. whatever this will do.

This dress is so lovely. i wish it was cheaper or more appropriate for the wedding this summer.

i like these booties too. the weather is getting too warm tho. i need new summer shoes. some summer oxfords with cut outs would be nice. ebay searching today.

when i was in toronto i bought a small white over the shoulder purse whcih i wear way too much already. i would now like one like this

i really like colored purses. i adore the big slouchy yellow one i bought this winter. but leather shoulder straps in the summer are very annoying.

this weekend i want to buy some chains for my projects. possibly get my sewing machine fixed. anddd most importantly buy a bike.

most of my tattoos were drawn up the day of and on the spot and usually not inspired by any other specific one (obviously as they are all "tradional" they seem pretty typical)
anyways, a few weeks ago i finally got a tattoo i had been wanting for 3 yrs.
(probably the longuest i wanted one specific thing without doing it)

I went to see my friend Catherine that works at Tattouage Royal on mt royal street and she did a great job. she even proposed an idea for the other thigh which i adore ( i hadnt really thought about if i wanted to balance out on the other leg.) the idea is basically a replica of two sailor jerry flashes.

here is what we got ( my bum cheek looks funny but i was laying on a table. so whatever)

i love it because when i wear dresses you can just see her legs.

the other leg will probably be a more "exotic" pinup with long black hair standing in front of a peacock.

but even as much as i adore this one. the ones catherine did on my feet in 2006 will always be my favorite i think with a close tie to the carousel horse on my ribs.

blah blah thats all for now. my beb is bbq'ing me dinner tonight. im glad the rain stopped.

there are so many things i want for this spring season and cannot afford. fml.

i barely slept last night because of insane coughing fits. i feel bad because i didnt end up sleeping alone and kept the boyfriend awake all night and possibly his roomate in the room next to us. oups. sry.

sergios birthday weekend was super fun.
amazing show and partying on friday
moniker vernissage saturday.
tending bar and ripping up my hand cause i opened like 100 beer bottles with my hand was less fun but good night over all.
sunday was nicee too. sitting in the sun and home cooked meals at his parents.

life is really good these days.

I did.

Saturday i wore a dress and no tights for the first time of the year.
I also enjoyed my first frozen yogurt treat from the ice cream shop, outside.

Sunday i had easter lunch at the boy's' family and it was delish.

it was also the photoshoot for Moniker designs' upcoming annual show which turned out to be pretty hilarious and fun. sported some high heels and shorts and awesome t-shirts that will be sold at the show next weekend. Olivia has a shirt in the show. Sunny made amazing shirts and i wish i could buy all of them but i will probably just buy the last one i modeled because it is gorgeous.

yesterday i spent an hour in the park with my dad, his gf, her daughter and the two dogs.
went grocery shopping for awesome foods for the week. and had an easter dinner at my dads gf.

it was a pretty nice weekend.

i just finished season 3 of Skins today and now i dont know what to watch. what i do know is that i want about a 100 tshirts to turn into this dress ( probably would sew the sides more tho.)

oh and i have a million other things i want to make so i really have to fix my sewing machine this weekend!

some how this has turned into a fashion photography picture posting blog. oh well.

today the weather is gorgeous and i got to have a nice lunch in the parc with good company.
the mentioned company decided to unlace my shoe and relace it with millions of nots in a very odd way and now it looks stupid but i cant untie them! but i will say this again. those h&m wedges are my favorite purchase of 2009. that and the cute bow ring i wear everyday.
i am probably going thrifting with laurence so that we can have some DIY projects. i will see how that turns out.

i bought some wedges at h&M when i was in toronto a few weekends ago and i am seriously in love. i would wear them everyday if i wasnt afraid of ruining my back ( i am supposed to wear special shoes which i have never done)

I am listening to cat power at work right now and no one is really around today so its very quiet at work. listening to her music tends to send me in the oddest train of thoughts. sometimes make me sad. others nostalgic. some days inspiring. but there is always something. she has such a gorgeous voice.

it seems to be Emma Cassi's workshop. she makes very delightful jewelry but i just mostly like the feel of that wall. its just the right kind of messy for my taste. i might have to change up my jewelry hanging system into something like this. i love it.

i am soo exhausted. and still sick but this weekend was really fun so i guess it was over all worth it.

friday was Pals! first show.

saturday was probably the first day we could just hang out on someones balcony. which we did.

Saturday night was the reach the sky show. toronto friends came up and it was a good time.

Some of you that have known me a while know how much i love this artist.

the first album (2005) You and yer good ideas was the perfect intro to his stuff, especially the songs ocean walk and gaston ave (some of you may remember those as my myspace songs for like ever back in 2005-2006)

after that came The Mighty Ocean and Nine dark theaters(2006)

The whole album is awesome. the art work as well. there are "polaroids" for everysong with a picture and at the back the lyrics written with a typewritter. i remmeber laying in bed when i first bought it listening to it from beginiing to end with my thoughts going all over the places. it was amazing. meet me here later is actually a song from that album and has somehow become what i use on the internet for most profiles and stuff including this blog and my aim screenname.

i used to want to use lines from songs from that album but genereally it was a whole song that gave you a feeling and it was always hard to pick oneliners.

he just recently put out pommegranate. also amazing. a little different but there are three songs right now that i cant stop listening too. the wondersmith and his sons, Two years before the mast (he has a lady counterpart signing with him on this) and secrets of the undersea bell ( the title of this post is from that song.)

the lines from these songs have been somewhat haunting and inspiring.

i love when you listen to songs while doing other stuff and suddenly one line just sticks out and you cant get it out of your head.

from the wondersmith and his son my favorite line is : Let's leave this life tonight, and race the sunrise down the highway.

and from secrets of the undersea bell its: Let me teach you songs that will fair you well, let me draw you maps through the gates of Hell.

they make me wish i had some sort of artistic talent to be inspired for. oh well.

not that many people love him the way i do but i guess i have odd music tastes.

give him a listen on myspace.. or youtube has some funny videos of his freestyles.

i want to party with him.

over the years we have talked via the internet mostly about book reccomendations and i have yet to be dissapointed. he has listed books that have inspired his writting for the albums and i recognized it when i listen or read whichever came first.

i will post something with more visual stimulants next time. i know everyone hates txt only posts.

i guess this is an odd post. but i am having a discussion about them with meaghan and i guess it made me want to discuss them here. most people in canada at least dont approve of guns. i guess i have a hypocritical view on the subject because i love shooting them but i dont want them around too much. i dont like the "right" to a concealed weapon at all.

i have shot riffles, shotguns, handguns, Ak's and AR's. (the last two are scary as shit to shoot with) thanks to my rednecka american friends and have had tons of fun.

i have not held a real gun in over two years now and i think i would probably be freaked out at this point.

last time i was in vermont, i went to the bagel shop for breakfast and was really freaked out when i realized people around me had handguns tucked in the backs of their pants.
i think thats when i realised how uneasy that reality made me.
i have not shot one since that weekend.

i am glad canada seems to have better laws about this. or at least canadians seems to have less interest on carrying them around.

guns are scary, maybe thats why i had fun shooting them? if that makes sense.

anyways, more interesting post later. oh and i added my etsy favorites in the side bar there.

friday was nick ball's birthday. yay good friends, good times.

before joining him and everyone at barfly i went out for some drinks with my cousin and her man and a few other friends. and then went to dans for a bit. busy friday.

saturday was spent sitting around alone at home and relaxing which was really nice.

in the evening i met up meaghan stef anf kristina. good talks. we went for a drive to moes and i hade a chocolate milkshake and poutine. meal of champions.

sunday meaghan and i went to the flea market. found a cute bag for my camera. some jewlery and some frames.

but then i slept all afternoon because i caught the death cold i had escaped all winter. oh well.

i heard this band in gab's car ( laurence's bf) over xmas time and fell in love. laurence bought me the album and even the art work made me love them more.
